...To this? An exhibition recreating the apartment of Abraham Rogarshevsky’s family in 1918. It’s a question routinely asked by visitors, so we developed this program to pull out the threads of history, to help visitors understand that history is not a seamless progression of events, but is based on primary source evidence.
The Tenement Museum bases all its exhibitions on an extensive amount of research. Museum curators used numerous sources to recreate the family’s life and the apartment’s appearance.
