Shipping
Canadian & Overseas Orders: We do not currently ship overseas or to Canada.

Membership Orders: There is no shipping fees on orders for Memberships.

Delivery Time: Orders will arrive approximately 7 to 10 business days after your purchase depending on availability.

Sales Tax
Shipments to anywhere in New York State include a sales tax of 8.62%. There is no sales tax on orders shipped outside of New York State.

Returns and Exchanges
Merchandise purchased at either the Tenement Museum's Online Shop or the Visitors Center at 108 Orchard can be returned for an exchange or refund if:
  • It is within 30 days of your purchase
  • The product is in its original condition. Opened items cannot be returned or exchanged. Items received damaged can be exchanged.
  • You still have an itemized receipt. Without your original receipt, a store credit can be issued for the current selling price of the item provided that we can verify that the item was purchased at our store.

Merchandise received as a gift can be exchanged for a store credit that is the current selling price. Please note that we do not offer cash refunds on items received as gifts. We will also need to verify that your gift was purchased at the Tenement Museum's Online Store or the Visitors Center at 108 Orchard.

Security
All credit card numbers used for purchase on the Tenement Museum Shop are encrypted using "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) encryption technology. SSL encryption is the web standard for safeguarding sensitive information such as credit card numbers when they are transmitted over the Internet.

Membership and the Tenement Museum Shop
  • Discounts: Members receive 25% off all online orders
  • Shipping fees: When you purchase a membership online, it will show ask you to select a shipping fee. However, you will not have to pay any shipping fee and your credit card will NOT be charged for shipping. We apologize for this inconvenience.
  • Delivery: Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery of your Membership packet. You may make a tour reservation before you receive your packet by calling 212-431-0233 x636.
