Frank Aucellao
Executive Dir. of Woodrow Wilson House

By acquiring 99 Orchard Street the Tenement Museum will more fully realize its mission and expand its nationally significant programs and outreach. It will not only preserve the streetscape, but will also provide for better access to handicap and older visitors without threatening the historic fabric of 97 Orchard Street.

The Woodrow Wilson House applauds the work the Museum has done to tell the story of immigration in our country. The work of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum has done to promote understanding of the immigrant experience remains critical, since sadly there are still too few places where this history if preserved.
