I have been a supporter of the Museum for the past 10 years. I also have owned a restaurant in the East Village for the past 14 years. I feel that the presence and mission of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum is one of great importance, historically and culturally, to our neighborhood. The far-reaching impact of a preservation institution such as this Museum on the generations of city dwellers to come cannot be overemphasized. For a neighborhood that has seen so much change, in the last 30 years; in the historical texture and fabric of it's street life and ethnic diversity, the mission and programs of this Museum are a necessity.
