Victoria Confino and two students

A costumed interpreter playing Victoria Confino can visit your facility. Victoria Confino lived in the tenement at 97 Orchard in 1916. Participants will travel back in time, pretending to be newly-arrived immigrants as they interact with Victoria. Along with talking to Victoria, participants get to handle and discuss period artifacts, which enriches their experience.

Max and Pauline Levine from the Piecing It Together Tour

A trained educator can visit your facility with a slide presentation of the Getting By or Piecing It Together tours. Participants will be able to share their own immigration stories and perspectives on larger present day issues. Along with a question and answer session, we also offer a hands-on component to enrich participants' experience.

After participating in a slide show presentation, individuals are led by a trained facilitator and encouraged to share responses to the stories of the tenement families, as well as their own family histories, and relate them to questions about living in a diverse community, which will enable participants to connect with each other while addressing broader contemporary issues. This workshop can be geared to all types of audiences, including corporate groups and those seeking professional staff development.
