At the Tenement Museum, we are always making new discoveries. We delight in being able to share these discoveries with our community, because we never would have found anything without your continued support throughout the years. In the coming months, our collections will grow as we start to explore corners of our tenement buildings previously left untouched, and search for new stories and objects for a new, permanent recreated apartment on the 5th floor of 97 Orchard Street.

2022 will be an exciting year for the Tenement Museum, but we can’t do it with the coins we found under the floorboards and couch cushions. Every cent counts – help us keep discovering the wonders of the Tenement Museum by making a donation today.

In Praise of Stuff: The Tenement Museums Collections
Explore our Digital Exhibit and see how the Tenement Museum brings the stories of our tenement families to life through the objects in our collections: everyday items that were either left behind in the buildings, heirlooms donated by the families of former residents, relayed to us through oral histories, or purchased in order to accurately recreate a space. This exhibit includes interactives such as videos, immersive 360 photos, oral histories, and slideshows, allowing you to experience our collections in even greater depth.
