Participants will take the Under One Roof tour where they will visit the recreated homes of three families at 103 Orchard Street to learn about what life was like for Jewish refugees, Puerto Rican migrants and Chinese immigrants on the Lower East Side in the decades after WWII.  By exploring the digital exhibit Your Story Our Story, participants will gain resources to support instruction that encourages empathy and cross-cultural understanding, and learn about a platform for students to share their stories and see themselves as a part of history.  To wrap up the day, participants will delve into brand new resources created for our upper elementary immigration curriculum and discover ways to bring the Tenement Museum families alive in their classrooms.

The Workshop will be held at the Tenement Museum 103 Orchard Street New York, NY 10002) from 9am-3pm. The cost is $10 and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
