Storyteller’s Society Virtual Tour: Under One Roof

All Storyteller’s Society members are invited to a special virtual tour of Under One Roof. This tour carries the immigration story into the present with the experiences of newcomers who settled on the Lower East Side after World War II. Virtually visit the homes of Bella Epstein, whose parents built a new life on the Lower East Side after the Holocaust, Jose and Andy Velez, whose mother left Puerto Rico for garment work, and the Wong siblings, whose stories of their mother and other garment workers are highlighted in an interactive, recreated Chinatown garment shop.
This event is exclusively for members of the Storyteller’s Society.
Please note: An educator will virtually guide members through these spaces to simulate exploring these intimate historic tenement apartments. In order to facilitate an active discussion, these virtual tours will be capped at 30 member devices.
