A Day in the Life: Rogarshevskys

Explore the story of the Rogarshevsky family by taking a journey through the Lower East Side and visiting their 1911 recreated home in 97 Orchard Street. This is a hybrid walking/apartment tour.

Exploring 97 Orchard Street

5:30 pm & 6:30 pm

Explore the curation and preservation of 97 Orchard Street, a historic tenement and discover how landlords and tenants left their mark on the building.

Tastings at the Tenement

6:30 pm

Taste a variety of foods from our neighborhood and discuss the role of food in immigration history, the neighborhood, and wider American culture.

Tenement Bedrooms

Take an intimate look at the most private space of a home: the bedroom, which holds the stories of childbirth, contraception, and everything in between.

Discover stories of Lower East Side arrivals who lived at 103 Orchard Street in the 1950s through the 1980s and worked in the neighborhood’s garment industry. This program is wheelchair accessible.
