The lights stay on after dark on Thursday evenings at the Tenement Museum! Each Thursday offers access to exclusive programs, tours, and exhibits only available on this special night of the week. This week’s exciting programs include LIVE! at Schneider’s Saloon, A Day in the Life: Rogarshevsky, Exploring 97 Orchard Street, and more.

LIVE! at Schneider’s Saloon

In this interactive program, meet John and Caroline Schneider, married German immigrants and proprietors of 97 Orchard Street’s first, and longest-lived business — a German beer saloon. German refreshments included!

A Day in the Life: Rogarshevskys

Explore the story of the Rogarshevsky family by taking a journey through the Lower East Side and visiting their 1911 recreated home in 97 Orchard Street. This is a hybrid walking/apartment tour.


Exploring 97 Orchard Street

5:30 pm & 6:30 pm

Explore the curation and preservation of 97 Orchard Street, a historic tenement and discover how landlords and tenants left their mark on the building.

Under One Roof

5:30 pm and 6:10 pm

Discover stories of Lower East Side arrivals who lived at 103 Orchard Street in the 1950s through the 1980s and worked in the neighborhood’s garment industry. This program is wheelchair accessible.
