JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager of I& Digital Technology’s primary responsibility is to oversee the operations and security of the Tenement Museum’s technology and data infrastructure and ensure it aligns with the strategic goals of the organization  This position will be required to be onsite 4 days per week, with an eventual return to 5 days.  Proof of COVID vaccination is required.   

 

The Manager of IT envisions, plans and directs all IT services related to operations and security and provide direction and support for IT solutions to enhance mission-critical programs. The Manager maintains local servers and cloud infrastructure, manages voice and data communication projects, develops the annual IT budget, leads employee IT trainings, and owns all disaster/contingency support of critical and non-critical systems to ensure availability of systems. Over the next year, the museum is planning for a Capital construction project and CRM conversion to Salesforce and the IT Manager will play a key role in both initiatives.   

 

Collaborating with all departments of the museum, the Manager of IT, along with an IT Associate will provide support in the development of all new digital projects both onsite and onlineThe Manager also provides oversight of infrastructure and works in partnership with staff in providing content for these platforms, as well as monitor emerging technologies and trends in the fieldThis position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure that the museum’s hybrid network is operational and available to on-site and remote based staff, while also ensuring that staff have the appropriate technology and tools to execute their job functions. 
  • Maintains all software including Microsoft Windows Servers, Exchange, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Fund-EZ (accounting software), Salesforce and Ticketing Software. Supports the Museum’s POS (Point of Sale) system for tickets sales and retail operations 
  • Reviews performance of IT systems and determine operating costs, productivity levels and upgrade requirements. Make recommendations for the improvement of the IT systems 
  • Supports the Museum’s interactive infrastructure including, but not limited to: projectors, computers, Raspberry Pi and audio experiences 
  • Manages and shares out project milestones including SLAs (service level agreements) and resource allocation to all staff including senior management, front-line staff and end users. 
  • Researches potential technology solutions and implementations to support new initiatives and procurement efforts. 
  • Oversees provision of end-user services including, Help Desk, technical support, training and project management support services 
  • Develops and implements all IT policies and procedures including those for security and disaster recovery 
  • Leads vendor relations including regular interaction with Tenement Museum’s long-time IT Consultants 
  • Provides training for all software and audiovisual technology as needed 
  • Manages the Information Technology & Digital Media Associate and oversees the IT budget  
  • Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School equivalency and related work experience 

  • 3years work experience and solid technical experience of Windows and Azure based networks, project management and information security knowledge required. 

  • Non-profit experience is a major plus 

  • Candidate must be customer-orientated, be able to communicate with all levels of staff and be an excellent collaborator
