Transport
To New York City
Participants are responsible for covering the cost of their transportation to and from New York City. For those travelling by air, the closest accessible airports are LaGuardia Airport (LGA), JFK Airport (JFK), and Newark Airport (EWR).
Within New York City
Participants are responsible for covering the cost of their transportation to and from the Tenement Museum. For site visits, the Museum will provide attendees prepaid OMNY cards to take public transportation (subway).
Food and Lodging
Meals
Participants are responsible for covering the cost of their meals for the duration of the institute. If the institute schedule requires participants to work during lunch or dinner, the Tenement Museum will provide the meal.
Housing
Participants are responsible for covering the cost of their own lodging while staying in New York City. The Tenement Museum has negotiated a reduced rate for participants who wish to book rooms at the Holiday Inn NYC – Lower East Side located four blocks from the museum. This hotel offers two lodging options: King room ($209/night) or Two Double beds ($229/night). Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center with printing capabilities, and an outdoor courtyard.
