On this virtual tour, get a behind the scenes look the process and philosophy behind the Tenement Museum’s historic spaces. Learn what it takes to recreate apartments from the 1860s and 1930s with before and after pictures, highlights of often overlooked architectural details, and interviews with experts who did the actual work. Understand why some areas of 97 Orchard haven’t been recreated, and how we make choices about preservation in our historic tenement.
