Join us on YouTube Live for a free virtual book talk with Ilan Stavans, co-editor of How Yiddish Changed America and How America Changed Yiddish in conversation with the Tenement Museum’s Institutional Giving Manager, Elizabeth Venditto.

This eclectic and dynamic anthology explores the influences and inspirations of Yiddish, a language without a set country but one that has spanned cultures. Beginning with the arrival of Ashkenazi immigrants to the Lower East Side, How Yiddish Changed America and How America Changed Yiddish weaves together anecdotes, art, politics and cuisine in a celebration of culture, adaptation and the human experience.
