Join us on April 25th for a specialized virtual program examining what made the influenza pandemic of 1918 so devastating and how New York City’s government and residents responded to the global health crisis. Through the story of Sarah and Jacob Burinescu, immigrants from Russia and Romania, and their children, we’ll examine parallels between the 1918 influenza pandemic and our own recent experiences with COVID-19 and consider how we might remember these events in the years to come.

For Teachers: NYS teachers can receive one (1) CTLE credit.

Let us know you plan to attend!

This program is generously supported by Con Edison.
